• Sentence The State must deliver all the furniture of the Pazo de Meirás to the Franco

  • Justice The State must pay the Franco family the costs of conservation and works in the Pazo de Meirás since 1975

The Franco family has a period of one month to withdraw "the things, goods or objects" that are inside the pazo de Meirás. They will be able to make the move after requesting it to the Court of First Instance number 1 of A Coruña in compliance with the judicial order of the Provincial Court of A Coruña that revoked the deposit of all the goods that are inside the property that had been made in favor of the State last fall.

Last December, Franco's heirs handed over the keys to the Pazo to the State by virtue of the judgment of the Court of First Instance number 1 - later confirmed by the third section of the Provincial Court of A Coruña - which declared the public ownership of Meirás and not they were able to remove their assets by court decision.

After appealing, they agreed and now they will be able to take everything that is inside.

The Court now allows them to remove all assets with the exception of those objects that are eventually found in it because they have been placed by the State after having taken possession of the property in December.

This period of one month was just what Franco's grandchildren requested, through their lawyers Luis Felipe Utrera-Molina and Antonio Gil, when they saw a "reasonable" time to remove "all the things, goods or objects that are in the interior of the claimed property ".

An order issued this Thursday, against which it is possible to present an appeal for reconsideration, also orders the State to allow access to the manor for professionals designated by the family to be able to remove the assets.

The family requested that the inventory of the estate of the pazo carried out by court order before the delivery of the keys be declared non-existent, in which 697 objects are listed, and also requested that the State, the Xunta de Galicia, the Coruña County Council and the Sada and A Coruña city councils, all parties involved in the case, "who abstain indefinitely from any use, use, invocation, disclosure and / or disclosure" of its content.

The court, in response to this request, grants the parties a period of ten days to indicate whether they are in agreement with this request or present allegations.
