Berlin / Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The number of new corona infections recorded per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days has fallen in Saxony-Anhalt.

On Thursday morning, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave a value of 170.1 for the country - after 179.1 on Wednesday and 180.6 on Tuesday.

According to the information, 744 new corona infections were reported to the RKI nationwide within 24 hours, as well as 16 further deaths in connection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus.

The nationwide seven-day incidence was 154.9 on Thursday, according to the RKI.

More than 24,700 new infections were reported within 24 hours.

For the Saale district, the RKI reported the highest seven-day incidence nationwide with 251.9 on Thursday, followed by the Burgenland district with 223.7, the Mansfeld-Südharz district with 214.2 and the Harz with 202.1.

All other rural districts and the independent cities were in the range between 100 and 200.
