Freisen (dpa / lrs) - A major fire broke out in a timber construction company in Freisen, Saarland.

According to initial estimates, the damage is in the millions.

The exact amount is still unclear, said a police spokesman on Thursday.

The fire fighting stopped in the morning, no one was injured.

On the premises of the company in the St. Wendel district, a 1200 square meter hall and a 400 square meter wood store have been burning since early Thursday morning.

Several gas cylinders also exploded.

According to the police spokesman, the smoke also hampers traffic on the adjacent Autobahn 62. The fire brigade was deployed with around 150 people.
