Dortmund (dpa) - The trial against a 15-year-old youth began on Thursday in front of the Dortmund district court in camera.

The public prosecutor's office accuses the German of trying to incite an acquaintance to murder Jews or Muslims.

According to the indictment, the youth is said to have written to his friend via WhatsApp to get a knife or a firearm and use it to commit an assassination attempt in a synagogue or mosque.

However, these alleged murder fantasies were not implemented.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the student from Oer-Erkenschwick is said to have obtained explosives and started to use them to build bombs.

His goal is said to have been to emulate his models of the racist terrorist attacks in Halle and Christchurch.

There are said to have not yet been any concrete attack plans when the 15-year-old was arrested in February 2020.

After two months of pre-trial detention, the accused is now said to be living in an assisted living facility and to have renounced right-wing extremist ideas, it was said on the sidelines of the trial.

The district court initially set trial days for the trial until mid-July.
