Hanover (dpa / lni) - The Corona vaccination rate has reached a new high in Lower Saxony.
According to data from the Robert Koch Institute, 113 287 vaccinations against Covid-19 were recorded nationwide on Wednesday.
These included around 105,000 first vaccinations, two thirds of which took place in doctors' surgeries and one third in vaccination centers.
The previous record of around 78,500 vaccinations in total in one day was thus clearly exceeded.
More than every fourth Lower Saxony (26.1 percent) has now received at least the first injection.
However, only 6.7 percent of the population are fully vaccinated.
Compared to the national average, vaccination progress in Lower Saxony is slightly higher for first vaccinations and slightly lower for second vaccinations.
Nationwide, more than a million corona vaccinations were counted for the first time on Wednesday.
