Gislaved's municipality's decision not to offer soft drinks as an alternative at meals at the nursing homes provoked strong reactions.

A trader in Eksjö then donated soft drinks to the residents.

First, the social director said that the municipality as a public activity could not receive it as a gift.

Now comes the new message.

The donated soft drink will go out to the nursing homes where the residents can take it for free.

- We have decided that the soft drink will be divided and sent to all our care and nursing homes so that the tenants, or their relatives, can pick up soft drinks when they wish, says Anders Johansson, municipal director.

The municipality of Gislaved will now develop guidelines so that they can act more quickly if gifts are given to the municipality's users in the future.
