Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - Nine months after his elbow operation, decathlon world champion Niklas Kaul is about to make his comeback - and before the first open-air start since his gold coup in Doha in 2019.

The 23-year-old from USC Mainz reported this coming weekend at the 2nd “Fly-up and far meeting” for the four-way fight with 110 meter hurdles, 200 meters, discus throw and long jump, Leichtathletik.de reported on Thursday.

The German athletics aces can compete on two days at the Eintracht Frankfurt meeting.

It will be the first national assessment - four weeks before the Olympic qualification at the all-around meeting in Götzis / Austria (May 29th and 30th).
