Bad Hersfeld (dpa / lhe) - The Bad Hersfeld Festival is to be opened on July 1st with a stage version of the Hollywood film "The Dead Poets Club".

The organizers announced on Thursday after a meeting of the main and finance committee that the originally scheduled date for the premiere on June 25 would be postponed.

This is followed by a world premiere of the musical "Goethe!"

on July 2nd and the premiere of the play «Momo» on July 3rd.

The festival management expressed the expectation that the corona situation "will relax through vaccinations, test offers and careful interaction with each other in the next few weeks and that it will be possible to return to theater in July, especially to theater in the open air".

"We are looking forward to the festival summer and are confident that the performances can take place as planned in compliance with the hygiene regulations," said Artistic Director Joern Hinkel.

The postponement will save valuable time, so that “entry to events will be permitted again from July with vaccination card and current negative test”.

The festival management wants to clarify all organizational questions related to the postponement in the coming days.

Tickets should remain valid and can be exchanged for a new date.
