Frankfurt am Main (dpa / lhe) - On the Main near Frankfurt, a sailing boat was hit by a strong gust of wind and capsized on Thursday.
The 73-year-old sailor fell into the water, but was able to hold on to his boat, the police said.
He saved himself on the banks of the Main in the Fechenheim district on his own.
There he was looked after by police officers who had been informed of the emergency by the crew of a ship.
The sailboat was recovered by fire fighters and brought to the club's premises.
