In the 29th minute of facing Real Madrid and Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, French striker Karim Benzema scored the equalizer for his team, but it was not correct, according to a refereeing expert.

After a cross by Brazilian Marcelo, the ball reached his compatriot Casemiro, who passed it with his head to his fellow countryman Eder Militao, who in turn passed it to Benzema, who tamed it and scored one of the most beautiful goals this week.

But according to Spanish refereeing expert Oliver Andujar, the goal is not correct, and Dutch referee Dani Makeli had to cancel it because “Casemiro made a mistake on the Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea full-back) before passing the ball to Milito, and thus the goal is illegal."

It is noteworthy that the video technology referee did not intervene or alert the referee of any mistake committed in the match that ended in a 1-1 draw.

Chelsea have a greater chance to qualify for the final match of the European Championship, as it needs only a goalless draw in the second leg at home next week or winning any result to qualify for the final, while the Real needs to win any result over Chelsea at home back-to-back or draw with a score greater than 1-1 to qualify for the final.
