The English team Manchester City put ahead in the Champions League final after snatching victory over Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Wednesday evening in the second leg of the European Championship semi-final.

At the Princes Park in the French capital, Paris, Manchester City made an important step towards qualifying for the Champions League final for the first time in its history, at the expense of Saint Germain, the summer of the last edition.

Saint-Germain was the best team during the first half, during which it scored its only goal, while its players struggled to miss the other easy opportunities they had.

In the second half, the French champion paid the price of wasting opportunities as Manchester City imposed his absolute control, to score two goals that were much easier than his mission in the second leg, and his stars were about to score more goals had it not been for the lack of luck that needed them in more than one opportunity.

Saint-Germain, the runners-up of the last championship, scored through its Brazilian star Marquinhos in the 15th minute, before the Belgian equaled Kevin De Bruyne for Manchester City in the 64th minute, taking advantage of a fatal mistake by Costa Rican Kaylor Navas, Saint Germain goalkeeper.

Algerian star Riad Mehrez added the second goal for Manchester City in the 71st minute from a free kick that was executed in a wonderful and surprising way that Navas did not expect, scoring his eighth goal in his career in the Champions League, to share the top scorer for Algerian players in the continental tournament with Yacine Brahimi, according to the UEFA Champions League account on Twitter.

Saint Germain's suffering doubled in the match, after he had to play with 10 players after his player, Idrissa Gaye, was sent off in the 77th minute, so that the French team failed to score the equalizer at the very least.

With that result, it is enough for Manchester City to draw or lose 1-0 in the return match, which will be held at the Etihad Stadium next Tuesday, in order to continue his dream of winning the title for the first time in its history.

On the other hand, Saint-Germain had to win by two goals or by one goal difference, provided he scored at least 3 goals, in order to reach the final match for the second season in a row.
