On Wednesday, the region received reports of people claiming to call from the Västerbotten Region and asking the elderly for a bank ID.
The persons say they call from a health center and must change the booking time for dose 2 and then get the person to state their bank ID.
- We want to urge everyone to never give out a bank ID.
From the region's side, we do not contact residents in this way, says the region's vaccine coordinator Ronny Lestander in a press release.
The region now clarifies that no one from the health service will unexpectedly call and ask you to identify yourself with your bank box or bank ID, regardless of the reason.
The vaccination is free and if someone wants to be paid, it is about fraud.
