Leipzig (dpa) - The Federal Administrative Court is negotiating this Thursday on a lawsuit by the Naturschutzbund (Nabu) against the operation of an offshore wind farm off Sylt.

The park with 80 wind turbines was approved in 2002 and put into operation in 2015.

It is located in an area that has been designated as a European bird sanctuary "Eastern German Bight" since 2005.

According to the court, the environmental association asserts that the wind turbines impair the habitat of the black-throated and black-throated divers.

The lawsuit was unsuccessful in both lower courts.

A decision by the Federal Administrative Court is expected in the course of Thursday.
