Potsdam (AP) - The Brandenburg state parliament is debating the federal emergency brake to contain the corona pandemic today.

The AfD parliamentary group has applied for a current hour because it sees federalism and thus the discretion of the federal states being undermined.

In addition, she considers the connection established in the law between corona incidence values and restrictions on fundamental rights to be arbitrary.

The law prescribes exit restrictions between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. in regions with more than 100 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

Another topic of the plenary session is the successful popular initiative for a green traffic turnaround, which calls for the expansion of cycle paths for pedestrian and local public transport.

The popular initiative should be formally rejected - but at the request of the red-black-green coalition factions, the state government should work out a mobility law with representatives of the popular initiative.

The aim is to make traffic climate-neutral by 2050.
