Leipzig (AP) - RB Leipzig is negotiating with Red Bull Salzburg about the obligation of coach Jesse Marsch.
"I can now confirm that discussions with Leipzig have been started," said RB Salzburg spokesman Christian Kircher on Wednesday evening of the dpa.
Marsch, who worked as an assistant coach under the then head coach at RB Leipzig from July 2018 to the end of June 2019, is to take over the post of Julian Nagelsmann at the Bundesliga club after this season.
The 33-year-old will then switch to FC Bayern.
Marsch, a 47-year-old American, was traded in various media early Wednesday as a candidate for the post at RB Leipzig.
When asked by the club from Saxony, Florian Scholz, Commercial Director Sport at RB, said: "We will comment on it as soon as possible."

After Nagelsmann's departure was confirmed on Tuesday, Oliver Glasner from VfL Wolfsburg, Pellegrino Matarazzo from VfB Stuttgart and Roger Schmidt from PSV Eindhoven were also traded.
