Mörfelden-Walldorf (dpa) - The last quarreled flight attendant union UFO has a new chairman.

The seven-member executive elected two weeks ago put Lufthansa employee Daniel Kassa Mbuambi at the head of the branch union on Wednesday.

The previous incumbent Anja Bronstert from Germanwings was elected deputy, as announced by the UFO in Mörfelden near Frankfurt.

Mbuambi announced a realignment of the organization.

It is important to fend off the desires of employers when air traffic increases again and the airlines come out of crisis mode.

"Of course, it must also be about getting back on par with social partners," said the new UFO boss, according to a statement.

Previously, the UFO had torn up an entire board within a year and lost its leadership figures in the Corona air traffic crisis.

Among other things, the long-time executives Nicoley Baublies and Daniel Flohr resigned after a hard conflict with Lufthansa and subsequent disputes with the union advisory board.
