Haldensleben (dpa / sa) - Thieves broke into a tobacco shop in Haldensleben (Börde district) through the roof of the house on Wednesday night.

There they stole cigarettes worth around 15,000 euros and change from the cash register, the police said.

In addition, they caused damage to the building amounting to around 2,000 euros.

As it turned out, for their coup, the intruders had previously stolen a ladder from a nearby hardware store, which they had used to climb the roof.
