Magdeburg / Düsseldorf (dpa / sa) - Saxony-Anhalt's Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) has called for the rapid withdrawal of restrictions on fundamental rights for people who have been vaccinated against Corona or have recovered from a Corona infection, according to a media report.

"I call on the federal government to submit a regulation as soon as possible - preferably this week - that clearly regulates the rights of people who have been vaccinated and recovered from corona," Haseloff told the "Handelsblatt".

According to the newspaper, the incumbent President of the Bundesrat offered a corresponding ordinance in parallel proceedings by the Bundestag and Bundesrat in the coming week.

According to a key issues paper of the federal government from the weekend, fully vaccinated and convalescent people could get the same exceptions for access to shops and services such as hairdressers that apply to those who tested negative. When entering from abroad, a quarantine could also be omitted in most cases. According to Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU), the federal government wants to submit a proposal next week that the Federal Council could then decide on May 28.

According to Haseloff, the Federal Council could make a decision as early as May 7th in its regular session.

But it would also be possible to have a special meeting at any time before or shortly after that date, he added.

He pointed out that the Basic Law clearly regulates fundamental rights.

If the state intervenes in these rights, then it has to justify these interventions very well.

"If we don't act quickly, the courts will rule on the restriction of fundamental rights."

Vaccinated and convalescents would have to be exempted from the obligation to test, "because their basic rights can only be restricted for compelling reasons," said Haseloff, according to the information in the "Handelsblatt".

The question of the exact regulation for those who have recovered remains open.

«Here the federal government has to give an answer in coordination with the Robert Koch Institute and the permanent vaccination committee.

We are now talking about a group of around three million people. "

Saxony-Anhalt has already regulated in a state ordinance that fully vaccinated people are treated like those tested on a daily basis.
