Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency published today the number of unemployed in Baden-Württemberg in April.

Before the announcement, experts assumed that unemployment had fallen slightly compared to the previous month despite the ongoing corona pandemic.

In March, exactly 271,534 people were registered as unemployed in the southwest, the rate was 4.3 percent.

The deadline for collecting the new data was April 13th.

Most recently, the number of people without a job had fallen a little.

Compared to the previous year, however, the number of unemployed was significantly higher.

In March 2020, before the first effects of the pandemic were felt, the unemployment rate was only 3.4 percent.

In April 2020 it increased to 4.0 percent, but was still below the currently known parameters.
