One month after a large corona test concert by the indie pop band Love of Lesbian with almost 4600 fans in Barcelona, the Spanish authorities drew a positive balance.

According to the information available, not a single visitor was infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus during the show on March 26, the medical team tasked with monitoring the project told journalists on Tuesday.

"We hope that this data will help to ensure that concerts can be held worldwide," said the doctor in charge, Bonaventura Clotet.

The Deputy Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, emphasized that the project “showed that it is possible and fundamentally important to de-escalate and reactivate at the same time”.

The organizer of the concert, Jordi Herreruela, was very relieved and said that there is now “a light at the end of the tunnel” for the show organizers, who have been badly affected by the pandemic.

In the case of the remaining two people affected, the place and time of the infection could not be determined with certainty.

Before and during the performance of the Love of Lesbian in the multi-purpose hall “Palau de Sant Jordi”, which was designed for up to 24,000 guests, strict protective measures were in place.

All visitors had to do a quick test on the day of the concert in specially set up centers.

Only people between the ages of 18 and 65 who tested negative were admitted.

Body temperature was measured upon entry and FFP2 masks were distributed to be worn during the concert.

According to the organizers, extra ventilation was also provided.

All visitors had to consent to their data being compared with those of the health authorities.

The corona situation in Spain is currently relatively stable.

The Ministry of Health in Madrid stated the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days on Monday evening as a good 114.

According to the Robert Koch Institute on Wednesday, this value was 161 in Germany.
