Iserlohn (dpa / lnw) - Brad Tapper remains head coach at the traditional club Iserlohn Roosters from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

The Sauerlanders also announced on Wednesday that an assistant coach for Tapper was still being sought.

This was the last responsibility of the sporting director Christian Hommel.

The then assistant Tapper was promoted to head coach after the Roosters separated from Jason O'Leary at the end of February and led the team into the playoffs.

In the quarter-finals, Iserlohn failed after a great fight in three games against the Eisbären Berlin.

"Brad took over our team at a difficult time last season and played a big part in the fact that we made it to the playoffs with a great team performance," said Hommel.

The sporting director also announced after the staff interviews that six players will be leaving the club.

13 professionals will also play for the Roosters in the coming season.

Winger Joe Whitney, center Brent Raedeke and defender Torsten Ankert each signed for two years.

Talks have not yet been concluded with another seven players from the current season's squad.
