Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The Hessian anti-Semitism commissioner Uwe Becker has welcomed the decision of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution to observe extremist sections of the Corona protest movement.

"With the relativization of the Holocaust through the use of symbols of Nazi rule or the equation of Nazi crimes with the decisions on corona measures, this movement has long since exposed itself," he said on Wednesday in Wiesbaden.

At the so-called lateral thinker demonstrations, hatred, agitation and conspiracy theories mixed with anti-Semitism.

The observation by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is a “first step to take action against the delegitimization of our free democracy”.
