American astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson sparked widespread controversy after he posted a picture, on his Twitter account, of the logo of the global McDonald's restaurant chain, on the surface of Mars.

"The first signs of life on Mars, from the NASA ingenuity helicopter," Tyson said in a tweet, referring to photos taken by the famous NASA helicopter on its journeys across the Red Planet.

Tyson commented in another tweet, "Some of you asked: A quarter-pound (pre-cooked) burger on Mars weighs 10.5 ounces, equivalent to 2.6 times the surface of the Earth."

"But, apparently, watch out for french fries, Mark Watney might be their farm, where he grows potatoes," he added, referring to the role played by actor Matt Damon in the movie "The Martian".

This was not the first time that Tyson raised a controversy over the presence of McDonald's on Mars, as he published a similar picture in 2012, coinciding with the "Curiosity" spacecraft's flight to discover the red planet.

NASA has published color aerial photos taken by the Ingenuity helicopter during its second flight on Mars, at a time when the helicopter succeeded in its third flight at a height of 16 feet, and a top speed of 6.6 feet per second.

Tweeters expressed their admiration for this picture sarcastically, as some said that he wanted to order fast food from Mars, while others saw that they had the motivation to visit him soon.

Some of you asked:

A quarter-pounder (pre-cooked) burger on Mars would weigh 10.5 ounces back on Earth - 2.6 times as much.

But, apparently, watch out for the Fries.

Mark Watney [Matt Damon] may be their farmer, growing poop-potatoes.

Third flight in the history books✅

Our #MarsHelicopter continues to set records, flying faster and farther.

The space chopper is demonstrating critical capabilities that could enable the addition of an aerial dimension to future missions to Mars & beyond.

Far Out 🚁

For this third flight, the #MarsHelicopter traveled almost half the length of a football field and increased its airspeed to 4.5 mph (2 m / sec).

Until now, Ingenuity had not flown at this speed, even while testing on Earth.
