Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The risk of forest fires has increased significantly in almost all of Brandenburg.

On Wednesday, the second highest level (high risk) was reached in 13 of the 14 districts.

"The only exception is the Uckermark," said the country's forest fire protection officer, Raimund Engel, on Wednesday.

Forest fire level 3, which stands for medium risk, continues to apply there.

There are a total of five warning levels.

There have already been minor fires, said Engel - both in forests and in open spaces.
