Hyena is an American bulldog that originally comes from Germany.

He was imported by a kennel in Sweden and when they needed a dog sitter, Josefin Granberg got in touch.

The idea was that she would take care of the dog for a few months, but time passed and a few months became a year.

One night Hyena started vomiting and Josefin had to go with him to the vet.

Once there, it turned out that he had to undergo surgery and when he was uninsured, the sum landed at almost SEK 50,000.

- I had not planned to keep Hyena for this long, but he deserved to live, says Josefin Granberg.

Started fundraising to raise money

When Josefin recently became unemployed, she needed help paying for the operation.

Therefore, she started a fundraiser on social media and many volunteered and donated money.

In addition, she received help from friends to afford the operation.

The operation went well, but when a bridle toy got stuck in the intestine, the veterinarian had to operate on 25 centimeters of the small intestine.

This resulted in a large surgical incision on the abdomen.

Now after the operation, Hyena is fine, but it will take time for him to recover.

- He is still receiving medicine and the stitches are still there.

Then he has to take it easy and can only take short walks, she explains.

To be insured

Today, Hyena is registered with Josefin and an insurance policy is underway now that she knows that she is the owner of the dog and not just a dog sitter.

- Now he is mine and I love him more than anything else.

When I know that Hyena is well and has recovered after the operation, I will assure him immediately.
