The Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) was clearly signed on Christmas Eve last year and the British Parliament has already committed itself to following it.

Pending the European Parliament's final approval, the agreement has already entered into force conditionally - and now the last formal obstacle has passed.

The ratification of the agreement was voted through in the European Parliament with 660 votes in favor, 32 abstentions and only 5 against, reports AP.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on Twitter that she "warmly welcomes" the message:

"TCA forms the basis for a strong and close partnership with the United Kingdom. Faithful implementation is essential. ”
