Berlin (dpa) - The Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 have terminated the contract of Center Stefan Pjesivac.
The 24-year-old had already been fired for disciplinary reasons last week.
Previously, Pjesivac had already been removed from the national team of Montenegro for the Olympic qualification.
“It's a sporting disaster for us, but we had to act like that,” said Spandau President of the “Bild” newspaper (Wednesday).
The Montenegrin was signed for the central player position in August 2017 and came from Jadran Herceg Novi with the recommendation of the junior European Championship title and a number of international appearances.
Due to weight problems, Spandau had given the center, which had not been used in the Champions League games last week, the task of weight loss at the beginning of the year.
"But he didn't even begin to meet them," said Spandau manager Peter Röhle of the German press agency.
