Last week, Östergötland had 526 cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants.

It is the second highest in all of Europe - but the fact is that five of Sweden's regions top The Economists' list.

These are Västernorrland, Östergötland, Kalmar, Örebro and Kronoberg.

But The Economist also writes that one should take into account that it is difficult to compare different countries, because how many you test and how you count dead can differ.

Last week, Region Östergötland went out and said that the spread of infection right now is the worst so far during the pandemic.
