The Knutby parallel will therefore be lifted by the murder-accused 23-year-old's defense lawyer when the main trial begins in May.

- It is included in my intended plea, yes.

There are obvious similarities, it has been clear for quite some time, says Eric Widner.

According to Widner, the 23-year-old - who admitted to cutting the 57-year-old's body - acted under the influence of stress and mental influence.

- It went on for a long time and happened bit by bit.

When my client today thinks more clearly, he can not understand how stupid he was who trusted what the other man said.

"Born again as a murderer"

The investigation shows that the two accused got closer to each other privately in the spring of 2020.

According to several interrogations, the 23-year-old was strongly impressed by what the co-accused 22-year-old confidentially told.

He claimed to suffer from fatal diseases, wrote wills, stated that he was hunted by the international mafia and that he himself killed eleven people who torpedoed in their teens.

The two men sometimes communicated in their own, made-up language.

A clear picture emerges in the interrogations: the 22-year-old must have made his friend believe that they were both reborn as murderers.

The 22-year-old is said to have claimed that the two men were actually born about 14,000 years ago and that they were reborn in different eras with the task of "murdering and cleaning scum".

- It is not an unimportant task, because my principal has thought that if he could have killed in another life, it would have been easier for him to do it again.

It was a way to get him on the plans, I mean.

He blindly trusted what was said, says Eric Widner.

The prosecutor about the motive picture: the home

In connection with the prosecution being brought on Monday, prosecutor Anna Johansson specified the motive picture, which she believes is about money and access to the 57-year-old's home - where the two accused lived and where the murder took place.

She believes that both actively participated in the planning and implementation and therefore prosecutes both for murder.

SVT Nyheter Blekinge has today sought the 22-year-old's lawyer Karl Hamstedt without result.

He has previously said that his client's "mental illness" is the main explanation behind the act.

Both the 22-year-old and the 23-year-old are undergoing an extended forensic psychiatric investigation pending trial.
