According to SKR's estimate, approximately 14,000 assistant nurses and care assistants will be needed for the municipalities' care and care per year for the next ten years.
It is based on an increased need due to an increased proportion of older people, but also that staff need to be replaced in the event of retirements.
Elderly care promotion
SKR does not know how the municipalities have used the state subsidies in the so-called elderly care increase.
The National Board of Health and Welfare does not yet have that answer either.
But SKR's picture is that many municipalities have used the investment for further education.
