Kiel (dpa / lno) - Schleswig-Holstein will release the corona vaccinations in medical practices and vaccination centers for the entire group with the third highest priority from May 10th.

The state government announced this on Tuesday.

In addition to the 60 to 70-year-olds, this group includes other medically predisposed people, all teachers, firefighters and employees in the food trade.

Appointments for the vaccination centers can be booked from May 6th.

A first step for this group was the approval of vaccinations for 60- to 69-year-olds with Astrazeneca via the family doctor's practices from Monday.

"We are also implementing our consistent Schleswig-Holstein path towards more normality in the remaining stages," said Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU).

Part of this path is also to give back freedoms where possible.

The Jamaica coalition had agreed on how to proceed after the vaccination summit between the federal and state governments.

With 72.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, Schleswig-Holstein continued to have by far the lowest value in Germany.
