Wittenberg (dpa / sa) - Drivers will have to be prepared for disabilities again from Monday on Bundesstraße 2 near Wittenberg.
Between the Pratau junction and the intersection with the federal road 187, the B 2 can only be used in one lane in each direction for five months, as the Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday.
According to the information, the reason is the renovation of the roadway in the direction of Wittenberg and of three bridges in the section mentioned.
With more than 16,000 vehicles a day, the B 2 is a route with a very high load, according to the ministry.
In addition to the roadway and bridges, the pedestrian and cycle path running parallel to the B 187 is also to be renovated, which will have to be completely closed for an expected eight weeks.
The cost of the measures was given as almost three million euros.
The road in the direction of Leipzig had already been rehabilitated in this section last year.
