Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Three suspected intruders have been connected to the police in Hamburg.

The women, aged 19, 30 and 42 years, are said to have broken into an apartment in Nienstedten on Monday, the police announced on Tuesday.

Among other things, they are said to have ripped a safe weighing more than 100 kilograms from the wall.

A neighbor was made aware of loud noises.

When the trio came towards him and fled in a car, he alerted the police.

The car was discovered and stopped at the Elbchaussee in Ottensen as part of the manhunt, in which a police helicopter was also involved.

According to the information, typical burglary tools, valuables from the Nienstedten apartment and other pieces of jewelry were found in the vehicle.

The women were arrested.

A judge should decide on pre-trial detention on Tuesday.
