Neustrelitz (dpa / mv) - Regardless of the restrictions caused by the Corona crisis, the theater makers in Neustrelitz are planning this year's open-air operetta.

As a spokeswoman for Theater und Orchester GmbH said on Tuesday, Jacques Offenbach's play “Pariser Leben” will be performed on the Schlossberg from June 18 to July 10.

The originally planned piece "Carmen" was dropped.

That would have resulted in discussions with the shareholders, taking into account the current Corona situation.

“Paris Life” tells the story of two Parisian bon vivants who, as tour guides, present Paris and the city's clichés.

The construction of the stage on the Schlossberg has already started, the scenic rehearsals are to begin on May 5th.

Rehearsals will take place on the stage from the end of May.

The operetta festival at the Schlossgarten already has a tradition at the age of 20.

Most recently, up to 14,000 spectators came in one season.

In 2020, however, the performances had to be canceled due to the pandemic.
