Essen (dpa / lnw) - In a mediation attempt between a group of young men and a 24-year-old, a 35-year-old man from Essen suffered a stab wound.

The uninvolved person observed an argument between four to five strangers on Monday evening who mobbed and pushed the 24-year-old from Essen, the police said on Tuesday.

When he wanted to separate the parties, he suddenly felt pain and noticed a bleeding wound.

The 35-year-old saved himself to a taxi driver and was driven to a hospital, where he had to be treated as an inpatient, as it was said.

The 24-year-old used the arbitration attempt to flee from the attackers, who were around 25 to 30 years old, and was unharmed.

The criminal police have taken over the investigation and are looking for witnesses to the incident.
