Sadness descended in Jordanian circles after the death of the young Jordanian boxer Rashid Sweissat, from his injury in a knockout fight about two weeks ago at the World Championships in Poland.

The Jordanian Olympic Committee confirmed, in a statement published on its official Facebook page, today, Tuesday, the death of the young boxer yesterday evening, Monday, as a result of the injury he suffered during his fight, Friday, April 16th, in the world championship that was held in the Polish city of Kalsi.

The Olympic Committee expressed its deep sadness at the death of the Jordanian Boxing Team player for the youth category, offering his family and relatives with sincere condolences and sympathy.

Jordanian activists and media workers expressed their sadness at the death of boxer Sweissat, wishing him mercy and forgiveness, while others criticized the sport of boxing and the danger it poses to the lives of the players.
