Hamburg (dpa / lno) - 370 kilograms of marijuana, 123 grams of cocaine, two firearms, around 33,000 euros in cash and five arrests: This is the balance sheet of a police operation that began on Tuesday night in Hamburg-Billwerder.

The officers were called to the transshipment station there because a witness had observed how several people were loading cardboard boxes from a container and throwing them over the fence, the police said.

When they arrived, the police arrested three men aged 19, 33 and 61 years.

In the container and two cars assigned to the men, they found 41 boxes and several sports bags with 340 kilograms of marijuana.

The investigation would then have led to further suspects.

Finally, in a concerted action, a total of twelve rooms in Altona-Altstadt, Osdorf, Neustadt, Wandsbek, Langenhorn, Altona-Nord, St. Pauli and Bahrenfeld were searched.

A 27-year-old who had just under 25,000 euros in cash was arrested.

Two 23 and 33-year-old women were arrested, but the younger one was later released for lack of grounds for detention, it said.

In the apartment of a 23-year-old on St. Pauli, small amounts of marijuana, a blank gun and over 5700 euros were reportedly seized.

The arrested were to be brought before the judge.
