Tauberbischofsheim (dpa / lsw) - The mayor of Niederstetten in the Main-Tauber district, Heike Naber (CDU), is temporarily relieved of service.

This was announced by the district office of the Main-Tauber district on Tuesday afternoon.

The provisional suspension of service has been sent and will take effect upon delivery, it said.

If Naber were to file a lawsuit against it, this would have no suspensive effect, unless otherwise decided in an urgent procedure.

Three years after taking office, the mayor is now temporarily out of office.

The district office sees the relationship of trust between the municipal council and administration on the one hand and the mayoress on the other hand completely and permanently destroyed.

A “fruitful cooperation” was unthinkable, said the district office in response to a SWR request.

The background is a rift between the local council and the city chief because of breaches of duty.

According to the district office, Naber was on sick leave from the end of November 2020 up to and including last Sunday, since the municipal council and the mayor called for resignation, has reduced remaining vacation and was most recently in officially ordered quarantine due to corona.
