Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants reported in seven days has remained almost constant in North Rhine-Westphalia at a high level.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), it was 186.6 on Tuesday, 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous day (186.8).

On Sunday, the key figure was 185.9.

According to the RKI, 2955 new infections were reported in NRW within one day.

The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rose by 63 nationwide to 15,287.

In all districts and cities with the exception of Coesfeld (86.6) and Höxter (71.3), the weekly incidence was above the critical level of 100. In Münster, the value was slightly higher at 101.8.

If a municipality is above this value for three days in a row, the so-called federal emergency brake applies - for example with exit restrictions.

The highest incidence was recorded in Herne with 294.7.

In Cologne, the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia, the number was 240.0 and in the state capital Düsseldorf it was 161.0.
