Erfurt (dpa / th) - The Thuringian CDU parliamentary group has asked the Ministry of Education to publish a list of usable digital applications for schools.

A constantly updated overview of legally compliant and data-secure programs for digital teaching is required, according to a CDU demand paper on digitization in schools.

So far there is no such list in Thuringia.

The background is that the state data protection officer Lutz Hasse had reported concerns about a number of applications in the past. These included the video conference applications Zoom and Teams as well as the video platform YouTube. Again and again there were conflicts between the Ministry of Education and the state data protection officer on these questions.

In its catalog of demands, the CDU parliamentary group calls for a faster digitization of schools.

"It takes rapid progress," said the education policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group, Christian Tischner.

In order to keep the burden on teachers within limits, the Christian Democrats propose the introduction of a “digital caretaker” in schools, who takes care of simpler tasks related to setting up, maintaining, updating and administering the digital infrastructure in the schools.

According to the CDU, more complex problems should be solved in service centers.

For example, the communal media centers would come into question, it says in the paper.

“With this multi-level IT support, we want to relieve the teachers so that they can concentrate fully on the lessons.

The times when the computer science teacher was called for help must finally be over, ”explained Tischner.
