The driver had 1.45 per mille alcohol in his blood when he thundered straight into the car that Alice was driving on highway 25 at Skedala one December evening.

The sentence was three months in prison, which is one of the tougher staff that the district courts in Halland handed out in 2020. The man says he does not remember anything about the incident, but he appealed the sentence to the Court of Appeal for western Sweden.

The prison sentence remained

The Court of Appeal granted the request, but the prison sentence of three months remained the same.

The fact that the man lost his job as a truck driver did not take the court into account in this case, nor that the man himself had sustained certain injuries - which are otherwise things that can lead to less severe punishment.

In the clip, you hear the convicted man being interviewed, and among other things say that he can not understand how it could happen that he drove drunk.
