Rostock (dpa / mv) - On Tuesday, 585 new corona infections were reported in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

That was 91 more than a week ago, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced (as of 4:57 p.m.).

At the same time, four more deaths in connection with a corona infection were registered on Tuesday.

The total number of corona deaths since the pandemic began a good year ago is now 980.

The nationwide seven-day incidence rose by 3.4 new infections per 100,000 population to 138.7. It was highest in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district with 237.0, which corresponds to an increase of 59.9 compared to the previous day. In the district in southwest Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a total of 204 new infections were reported on Tuesday. After further smears at a company in Lübenheen, 80 infections were added on the same day, according to district information. In the meantime, around 180 people have been infected with the corona virus in and around the company.

High incidences were also reported from the districts of Mecklenburg Lake District (159.6) and Western Pomerania-Greifswald (148.1) and Northwest Mecklenburg (123.9).

In Schwerin the value is 114.0, for the Rostock district 107.5 and for the Hanseatic City of Rostock 104.7.

Western Pomerania-Rügen was the only region with 94.3 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days below the 100 mark.

After an incidence of more than 100 was measured in Rostock on the third day in a row, the so-called corona emergency brake of the federal government will also apply there from Thursday in combination with the state regulations.

One of the central regulations is an exit restriction from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

In the meantime, 24.8 percent of the residents in the northeast have their first peak against Covid-19, as the state office announced.

That is fourth place in a comparison of the federal states.

The national average is 23.9.

The total number of corona infections detected so far in the northeast is 39,302. About 33,885 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics was 336, 32 more than the previous day.

The number of corona patients in intensive care units rose by one to 91.
