Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Several lawyers have suspended the proceedings against the alleged terrorist cell "Group S."

requested.

In their view, the defendants they defend do not have sufficient access to their reading laptops in prison to properly prepare for the trial.

His client Tony E. could only use his laptop in the Stuttgart JVA by the hour after prior application in the reading room, criticized lawyer Jörg Becker on the third day of the trial on Tuesday.

The Public Prosecutor's Office spoke out against the application.

The court suspended the session and withdrew to deliberate.

In the past two weeks, inmate E. had no access at all because of several corona infections in the institution in Stuttgart-Stammheim, said Becker.

He therefore lacks "the opportunity to properly prepare the defense".

In Stuttgart there are twelve alleged members and supporters of the right-wing terrorist organization "Gruppe S."

in court.

According to the prosecution, they wanted to kill Muslims and start a civil war.

They networked via Telegram chat groups, wanted to get weapons and use them to raid mosques, but they also had their sights on politicians and dissidents.

The defendants were arrested on February 14, 2020.

Of the twelve accused, eleven are in custody, one is at large.

The state security process is a mammoth process with dozens of participants, and negotiations will be blocked until the middle of next year.
