Yiddish is one of Sweden's national minority languages, and the Jewish minority receives support from the state to keep the language alive.

The Jewish minority comprises around 20,000 people in Sweden, of which it is estimated that about 4,000 know Yiddish to some extent.

The language has been threatened for several years, but now the interest seems to be increasing, says Eva Fried.
