Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Berlin Senate must adapt the state's Infection Protection Ordinance to the federal emergency brake.

This is to be discussed and decided at the meeting today.

In principle, the federal regulations also apply in Berlin.

In some cases, however, the regulations in the capital go further, or the federal government does not set any requirements.

In these cases it has to be decided whether the Berlin regulations should be retained.

This concerns, for example, the Berlin obligation to wear medical protective masks for restaurant staff with customer contact, which is not found in the rules of the federal emergency brake.

This also applies to the mask requirement in office and administrative buildings.

In addition, the capital stipulates that between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. people are only allowed to be outdoors alone or in pairs.

After the federal emergency brake, exit restrictions only apply from 10 p.m. as long as the seven-day incidence is over 100.

You are not allowed to leave your own apartment or property until 5 a.m., with a few exceptions.

At this point, the Senate could simply delete the Berlin regulation.

Also on the agenda is the resolution on the purchase of the Berlin electricity grid by the State of Berlin.

It is still owned by the Vattenfall subsidiary Stromnetz Berlin GmbH.

The Swedish energy company Vattenfall offered to sell the electricity network at the end of October.

Berlin is planning a 100% takeover of the shares by a state-owned GmbH.
