Frankfurt (dpa / lhe) - The police have tracked down a suspected perpetrator who is said to have stabbed a man near Frankfurt Central Station with a knife and seriously injured him.

As a police spokeswoman announced on Monday, the 42-year-old victim had to be taken to a clinic after the attack last week.

The alleged attacker is a 34-year-old German from Offenbach.

After the attack last Wednesday, he fled on a bicycle.

Shortly afterwards he came into the focus of the investigators, among other things due to a successful description of the person.

The Offenbacher was also tracked down because he is said to have injured another man with a knife near the first crime scene on the same day.

The suspect was finally arrested by officials on Thursday.

When his apartment was searched, evidence was discovered, such as the clothes worn in the act.

One of the injured men also identified the Offenbacher as the attacker.

An arrest warrant was issued against the man on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm.
