Berlin (dpa / bb) - 793 new infections with the corona virus were reported in Berlin at the beginning of the new week.

Five people died with or from Corona in the same period of time, according to the current situation report from the Senate Administration on Monday.

The seven-day incidence rose to 137.9 compared to Sunday.

The day before it was 135.4.

The value indicates how many people per 100,000 population have been newly infected with the virus in the past seven days.

Since the federal law tightening contact restrictions came into force last Friday, the Senate Administration no longer uses its own data to determine the incidence, but has adopted the information from the Robert Koch Institute.

The proportion of people vaccinated in the capital continues to rise: In the meantime, around 8.7 percent of Berlin residents have received the second dose of vaccine.

1.129 million cans have since been inoculated.

The stress in the Berlin intensive care units remains high.

27.1 percent of the intensive care beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients.

This means that the occupancy rate has not changed since Sunday.

The number of registered infections rose to 165 097 on Monday. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 3193 deaths have been registered in connection with Covid-19.
