The EU-European Union has announced to British pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca that it has begun legal proceedings, saying that a significant delay in the supply of the new coronavirus vaccine is a breach of contract.

A spokesman for the EU-European Union announced on the 26th that it has begun legal proceedings against British pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca for violating the contract over the vaccine for the new coronavirus.

According to the EU, AstraZeneca has a contract to supply the EU with 300 million doses of the new coronavirus vaccine by the first half of the year, but it will actually be supplied due to production problems. Is expected to stay in about one-third.

In this regard, a spokesman said a significant delay in supply was a breach of contract and began legal proceedings in a Belgian court on behalf of the 27 member states receiving vaccine distribution.

In addition, he said that he did not get a satisfactory answer regarding the future supply plan, although he repeatedly set up a forum for discussion, and said that he would "promote the prompt supply of vaccines through legal measures."

In response, AstraZeneca made a comment, saying that the EU's measures were "sorry" and would like to cooperate constructively so that many people can be vaccinated.
