Werder (Havel) (dpa) - Two Bundeswehr soldiers were killed in an accident on the A2 motorway.
Police spokesman Heiko Schmidt reported that the two men were on Monday in a Unimog with a convoy of a total of 27 Bundeswehr vehicles between the Werder motorway triangle and the Lehnin junction (Brandenburg).
The column had been overtaken by a truck which, for reasons still unknown, had sheared to the right and pushed the Unimog off the lane.
Schmidt reported that the Unimog hit the hard shoulder in front of the post of a traffic sign.
The two occupants died at the scene of the accident.
The truck driver was slightly injured.

The police have started investigations into the cause of the accident.
