During the first quarter of 2020, the company made a profit of SEK 221 million.

The steelmaker has thus recovered.

The interim report states that one of the factors is that demand for high-strength steels is strong and that SSAB Special Steels has maintained a high production rate.

This includes the facility in Oxelösund, which shows record figures.

Operating profit landed at SEK 904 million, compared with SEK 458 million during the same period last year.

“Demand for high-strength steels is strong and SSAB Special steels maintained a high and stable production rate. Deliveries amounted to a record 376 kilotons ", writes SSAB in the report.
